Stinging Nettle leaf is considered a “superfood” due to it’s high content of nutrients, vitamins and minerals and can be eaten when cooked or dried. Stinging nettle during pregnancy, assists in maintaining a healthy iron level. The juice may be helpful as a diuretic. Extracts can assist with a myriad of other ailments such as arthritis, some allergies, anemia, and pain. Externally, Urtication (flogging with nettles) is deliberately used to provide pain relief from rheumatism. The vitamin K content of fresh nettles aids in clotting when applied to a fresh wound.
